Has your IBS taken a big chunk of your life away from you
- sometimes as much as half a month, every month.? Can't
really hold down a job? Are you spending whole days battling with
a bloating stomach, abdominal pain and stomach discomfort?
That all
you can do is to lie down, and you feel all the energy drained
out of you? Are there days you can't even leave the house and take
a short
stroll in the
park because of the pain? Are there are nights you go to bed praying that
tomorrow will be a pain-free day?
If you
have been struggling to cope with the pain and discomfort from
the symptoms of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), seen doctors and
specialists, consulted other types of healers just to get relief
and haven't found it yet
-
YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE!
According to
Lifetime risk for Irritable bowel syndrome is about 30%
of people. Our increasingly stressful lifestyles and unhealthy eating
habits will only ensure that the number of sufferers can only
increase. You are not alone!
To-date, medical science has not really found
out the causes and confirmed cure for IBS. That's why the
medical community
call it a 'syndrome'.
Like
you, I have suffered IBS for many years, spent lots of money
visiting doctors and other healers, but no one seemed to be
able to solve my problem on a long-term basis. Through trial
and error, I have discovered an approach that has worked for me
and I finally have taken back my life from IBS. I am not
totally cured yet but I do not depend on drugs anymore, and
I know how to minimize the bad days. Now, even on bad days,
I am able to move about, perhaps not at maximum energy, but I can hold down a job now.
I'd like to share this discovery with others and help
other sufferers take
back their lives from IBS. |

My Story
Hi, my name is
Terence and have suffered from IBS for the last 6 years. I know
what it is like. I lost my job because of it.
I can feel it
when you talk about cramping, bloating stomach, abdominal pain,
flatulence, constipation, watery stools that comes with IBS.
I'd like to tell you how to
adopt a systematic approach I have found out to control the IBS
Start Living Life Again!
In my first 2 years when
I was first diagnosed (which took a long time to
discover), I approached my IBS problem through the
standard approach - by visiting doctor after doctor, and
other traditional healers. Some did give temporary
relief but the moment medication stopped, my IBS took
over my life again - sometimes with a vengeance! At
times, I became so depressed that I wanted to give
up. A chance meeting with a caring pharmacist gave me a
glimmer of hope. She told me about probiotics which worked for me and
told me that I perhaps should look at a more holistic
approach rather than a single "cure". That gave me
some inspiration and set me thinking.

From then on, I started
to look at my IBS problem differently and embarked
on a holistic strategy to see what worked and
what didn't. By combining different approaches, not
only have I understood the problem better, but I now
have very minimal days where I suffer. The most
important thing, I took back control of my life!
That was one and a half years ago. I then thought, if I
could compile all this into a simple book, there may
be people who can benefit from what I know, that's
the reason for the
birth of the ebook "IBS-relief tips".

There have been many theories about IBS, but the medical
field has not truly understood the real cause and
thus have not yet discovered the cure. If you have
suffered IBS before, you will already know that IBS
affects each of us differently and sometimes it can
have totally opposing symptoms and effects on sufferers. Just an example, some
sufferers have constipation and others have
diarrhea. Milk sometimes helps for some people, but
in others it aggravates the situation.
So I don't profess to have the miracle cure, but if
you follow some of the tips I have in the ebook, I
assure you that it is going to help you in some way
- perhaps minimize, and we all hope it will eliminate
the IBS from your life. Perhaps it will in the long
term.
Why should you take action against IBS?
Untreated IBS
robs you of your life and if you let it control you, it can
kill you! - not physically, but kill your spirit for living -
slowly and surely.
Let me tell you a little more about Irritable Bowel
Syndrome.
-
The core place that IBS
affects
is the large intestine.
Bowel contents
are moved along the intestine by a succession of
rhythmical tightening and relaxation of segments
of the intestine. This is called peristalsis. In
the irritable bowel syndrome peristalsis is
stronger and more frequent than normal.
This makes bowel activity much more
noisy than normal. Bowel noises - loud abdominal
rumblings and squeaking - caused by gases being
propelled through the intestines by peristalsis
are called borborygmi. This may be embarrassing
to people with the syndrome.
The pain is usually located in the lower left
area of the abdomen. It usually occurs after
eating. There will be gases created which will
cause excessive burping.
Stools of an IBS
sufferer are usually ribbon-like or pellet-like
and usually accompanied by mucus.
-
Actually, It is not the IBS that causes you the all the
"headaches", it is the
effects
that impacts our entire lives.
-
Physical effects
are cramping, bloating, gas, diarrhea,
and constipation. These effects can be
delibitating - preventing you from doing your job
(and like me, I had to leave the highly stressed job
and take a break), and eliminating all other activities
because the IBS drains you of energy.
-
The pain and suffering often breaks our spirit.
You sometimes feel alone and start to consider
"Why me?", which is a very dangerous question.
-
It affects twice as many women than men.
-
The IBS has so many complications which
sometimes leaves you overwhelmed and you don't know
where to begin.
Are you disheartened that life has treated you
unfairly?
-
You are not alone.
In 2004, nearly 30% of all people had some form
of IBS problems. This is happening because of
the environment we are in. Fast food, unhealthy
food, unhealthy lifestyle, increasing stress at
work and poor exercise habits - basically poor
lifestyles.
-
You have a functional disorder. It is not terminal
if you do not let it to become so. You can have a near-to-normal life if you know how to manage your
situation.
-
You can take control if you want to and if
you let yourself to. If you remain
positive, all the positive energy will help you
find the solution. You have to be patient and
step by step you will discover what works for
you.
-
IBS is common, it is not your fault.
In 2004, nearly 30% of all people had some form
of IBS problems.
Why am I telling you all these? Because to beat IBS,
the first and most important pre-requisite is, you
have to have a
POSITIVE ATTITUDE.
Without it, nothing can
help you. My ebook is a guide, but you must be
willing to do what it takes to beat this IBS - you
must take some action!

Here are
Some Methods to relief IBS symptoms
- Regular
toilet visits (Daily is a must for IBS sufferers)
- Pain is relieved by
defecation (opening the bowels). Make this regular,
at least once a day. This will help to reduce the
pain.
- Pain is
associated with a change in the frequency of
bowel movement, either an increase or a decrease
- In some cases,
the disruptions in bowel movements can affect
the "sensation" of going to the toilet. So it is
important to make it a habit for defecation on a
regular basis at pre-determined time.
- Diet is probably
the most important factor in controlling IBS.
Certain foods react differently among IBS
sufferers but there are common ones which are:
- Fatty foods
- Fried foods
- Foods which
causes gas, for example beans
- Spicy foods
I will provide you with a
method to help you discover your ideal diet. Eventually, you
will discover food good for you, food which are healing,
and food you must avoid. Just as an example, two healing
foods are
- Banana - High in
fiber. Including bananas in the diet can help
restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the
problem without resorting to laxatives. Bananas have
a natural antacid effect in the body so if you
suffer from heart-burn, try eating a banana for
soothing relief.
- Papaya - It has the
power to alkalize the body and reverse acidosis from
years of eating unnatural, acid-forming foods. It
can neutralize excessive acids in the stomach which
causes gas built-up. It contains papain, a papaya enzyme
well-known for its ability to digest protein.
- Alternative methods is to take fiber
supplements to help in bowel movements
especially organic types. Two highly recommended
supplements are below
-
Other
natural ways to increase fiber
intake is from fresh fruits,
vegetables and remember to take lots of water to
help constipation.
Raw vegetables and fruits are best.
Remember increasing bowels by defecation reduces
pain. At some point, you may need additional
help defecation. Laxatives may be used but not
on prolonged periods. If you can't handle raw
vegetables, at least, increase vegetable cooked
meals. For a step by step guide to vegetarian
meals, click this link
Vegetarian Cooking Made Easy .
- For some people,
milk products are to be avoided especially if
you are milk intolerant. However, for those who are
not, you are very lucky. Many people have used milk
and milk-based products to help their IBS,
especially yogurt, with
surprising results. The key reason that yogurts
works is because it helps to build up good bacteria. I have
written an article on this subject. You can find it
"Yogurt and IBS".
(for those who are milk intolerant, look for soy base
yogurt. It has similar effects)
- Increase good
bacteria in the gut. Probiotics can be very
helpful in controlling IBS. Probiotics, unlike
drugs, can be used on a long term basis.
Drugs treatment can be classified into three broad
categories:
- For reducing bowel
spasm, thus reducing gas built up
- For increasing
defecation via laxatives
- Anti-depressant
drugs to reduce pain signals from the gut to reach
the brain. This reduces the pain sensation.

Healing and Strengthening Exercises
-
Yoga postures.
Yoga has proven relief to many people. The ebook
will discuss a number of yoga postures which has
helped IBS sufferers. A set of routines and
sequences are explained in detail. These Yoga
postures help to eliminate trapped gas and also
strengthen the stomach muscles. Some of the
yoga postures also help in relieving stress
which is one of causes of IBS. In my book, I
provide you with many YOGA postures - to strengthen the
stomach, get rid of gas buildup and improve circulation.
These exercise is one of the key pillars which will set
you on a healing path.
-
QiGong Exercise has
similar effects as Yoga. It helps to remove toxins
and improve blood circulation in the body. Just like
Yoga, if you want to master QiGong, you need a
master but our interest is to pick up stances which
are helpful in your IBS. for a practical approach to QiGong book is
QiGong Exercise
-
Reduce STRESS! -
Stress aggravates IBS (I had to leave my stressful job
to get a handle on my IBS). I will discuss a meditation
technique to take stress away. Just 10 mins a-day for a
better tomorrow. A detailed discussion on stress
remedies can be found in
Conquering Stress.
- Cleansing Program
- Why? Just like your car
engine, your body also needs rest and occasional cleansing.
- Detox programs can range
from just "juice" to more complicated methods. You can
choose one that suits you. Try the simple ones, first.
You can get one recipe here -
simple detox
- I include here two
excellent books which can address cleansing programs
in greater detail.
In Summary, it is my belief that if you know what to do when
the IBS symptoms are about to appear, and you are 'armed' with
an arsenal of remedies (natural) which you can use to get the
relief, you can learn to cope with IBS in your life.
During good days, and if you understand what to do, you can strengthen and
even start to heal your body. I have
developed six prong strategy which has worked well for me and
many other people. Pictorially, my strategy which I discuss in
detail in my ebook report is shown below:
